What is everyone doing for the Y axis endstop mount with the new linear rail?

I have a couple ideas, but was just curious about what's out there.  For now, I manually home the Y, and let the endstops do their magic for the X and Z...

Hi Tim,

After WAY too many months focusing almost exclusively on the operations side of this business, I am finally moving my focus back to R&D and engineering. One of my first projects is going to be coming up with end stop mounts. I need to get my personal MM working again (I have not had a working printer at home for months since I have been so busy!) but I hope to have something ready this week.

I just made my Z endstop last night and put it here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:28554 and was planning on drawing up the Y axis one today.

Also, for anyone who uses openscad, I'm putting together a full model of my printer so that it's easier to CAD up things like these brackets. it's a little rough right now, but I'm improving it with each part I make. https://github.com/markfinn/complete_MendelMax1.5

Somehow I managed to make my own text look like a quote there, but whatever.

Not very elegant but it works, its just a PLA rectangle tapped with a 5mm hole and a 3mm hole to fit the endstop. Once I have more time to sit down and design more I'll post up something that'll mount onto the extrusion that the rail uses.

Not sure if I'm qualified to be offering advice.  I'm still trying to get my machine working properly.  But here is what I did for the Y endstop.
Just a simple piece of wood. (Will print a new one once machine is working correctly).  Mounted to the z axis motor.

Renderman, that is effective and simple...I was thinking more complicated, thus why I wanted to see what others are doing.  You will get your upload issue sorted!

Ben, your machine is coming along fast..you have done allot since I saw it at the space last Monday.  Yours is a great idea as well.

I will implement a solution similar to one of these tonight, I hope, so my machine will be ready for it's debut at the space tomorrow...

Simple is elegant.

Hopefully I will be able to make my design soon so I will just add another one to the plate for yours.

What I had in mind, Move the table to where you want your zero. Use M3s to attach the endstop and then use a M5 to loosely attach it to the extrusion and move it just til it triggers against the cart and tighten down.

Haven't got one currenty, but I was thinking of trying to get one that is triggered by the car / the bracket below it... It seems quite easy to set the firmware to home away from the endstops, and that setup would work with longer pieces of glass as well...

That's what I'm doing.  I posted mine here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:28588

If anyone wants to give my design a try here is the STL. Wont have access to a printer for a couple hours.

Cake, I printed them and they came out great.  Thanks!

Treat those as a sort of alpha/beta, next version will let you gain 15-20mm back on full size borosilicate plates since the brackets seem to prevent ideal mounting.

Something like this, quick concept though. Need to take some more measurements.
