VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Finance and Administrative Officer

The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established under Nigerian laws to build strategic leadership for sustainable development in Africa. The vision of Centre LSD is an African society with strategic leadership and sustainable development. The Centre’s mission is to work with forces of positive change to empower citizens to transform society.  The Centre is guided by the values of transparency and accountability; integrity; transformative change; feminism; diversity; dignity of the human person and Pan-Africanism.

As a result of the expansion of its operations, Centre LSD is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Finance and Administrative Officer at the headquarters in Abuja.

 Education

Minimum of HND in Accounting.

 

Experience:

  • Applicants must possess at least 2 years working experience in an NGO
  • A member of a professional body
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with office management and basic bookkeeping
  • Must be knowledgeable on the use of Quickbooks

 

Job Description

·         Raise payment vouchers for all expenses.

·         Ensure payment vouchers are signed with supporting documents properly attached and filed.

·         Enter transactions into the quickbooks.

·         Reconcile books of account at the end of the month.

·         Follow up on staff advances and ensure prompt and proper retirement.

·         Support preparation of donor reports.

·         Prepare withholding tax, PAYE and pensions contributions of staff for payment to the       appropriate bodies.

·         Manage and prepare office petty cash and other regular payments.

·         carry out regular update of fixed asset register.

·         Support audit exercise.

·         Support procurement process of the organization.

·         Support budget preparation in the organization.

·         Support in the general administration of the office.

·         Handle any other work as may be assigned by the Line Manager.
