Centre LSD Strengthens the Capacity of Faith/Traditional Leaders And Establishes The Side-By-Side Movement in Otukpo Benue State
The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) under its project Core support for scaling-up the Side-by-Side Movement to mobilize religious and traditional leaders toward the implementation of GBV-related policies across Nigeria,
and with support from Ford Foundation, will begin capacity building for key faith and traditional leaders in Otukpo, Benue State, starting on June 24, 2024.
A press statement released by the Project focal person at the Centre, Mr. Nyong Essien, stated that the capacity strengthening which is targeted at 50 participants, will culminate into the establishment of the Side-by-Side Movement in Otukpo Benue State.
He added that the Side-by-Side Movement for Gender Justice, is a Movement which bring Faith/Traditional Leaders together on a common platform as advocates of gender justice
The movement which has been in Nigeria since 2018 with Centre Lsd serving as it National Secretariat with support from Christian aid recently received support from Ford Foundation to deepen its work in two focal states of Benue and Kano.
