windchime says:
Cyndi is a quilter who happens to be diabetic. She has been my wife
for 39 years. On January 21st it would have been 30 years.

She had been in bed most days for the last month due to her problems
with her sugar and recent shoulder replacement surgery. She had not
been eating well during that time. Then last Saturday morning she
asked me to take her Christmas shopping. I had other plans for the
day, but I was kind & patient. I took her shopping.

On the way home we stopped at one of our favorite Chinese restraints.
I helped her fill two plates full. Then we sat under a sign that read,
"Please do not waste food. Only take what you can eat." I read it to
her knowing that she would be unable to clean TWO plates of food. "I'm
hungry," was her reply. I was so surprised when she ate most of the
food, plus a small cup of ice cream covered with chocolate.

After we got home I worked the whole night imprinting beads, and then I
went to work at the church barely able to stay awake.

When I got off work she was sitting at the table eating a late
Thanksgiving turkey dinner that our grown children had repaired. I
joined her. We both ate well.
That was Sunday evening, and even though, I was extremely tired, I was
patient with her. We got along fine for the rest of the evening.

At midnight I gave her her usual shot. We chatted as husbands and
wives do and went to sleep around 1:00 am. The next day was Monday
which was my day off, and I was looking forward to a good nights
sleep.

At about 6 am I realized that she was not breathing normally. I called
the paramedics. To make a long story short, her blood sugar went down
to 2, and she suffered major brain damage. In three days we will take
her off off of the respirator and she will most likely die of
pneumonia, or just stop breathing.

Pray for me, and please be patient and kind with the one/ones you
love.

p.s She asked me to keep away while she did that Christmas shopping.
The presents are all in a closet. I do not know who she meant to get
what.

I am so sorry for that. Not sure what to say other than I will keep Windchime in my prayers today.

I know I am late on this, but that is such a difficult story to read.
Has there been any update?
My heart goes out to the family.
