Dear group,
I think we should fabricate a holder for the thermoelectric electric
out of raw materials, and then attach this to a commercially available
stand, magnetic chuck and 3-axis table. I will provide some design
requirements (such as spring/damper system to limit force applied to
the material, hinging system to provide range of sample thicknesses,
etc.), possible designs and list of materials later this evening. This
approach will allow you to actually utilize the machine shop, CAD and
design optimization procedures/equations.
