Hi,

I found the parts needed to build me the cable, however they are only sold in massive quantities. Is there a way to get a single or maybe 2 cables instead of parts for like 1000 in Europe?

Hi
because of this reason, i ordered parts for 25 plugs and i will sell them without the ttl converters. I charge 10.-€ per plug within three pins and a rubber-plug.
If you like to have one or more sets, i need your adress to check how much postage is to foreign country. Then I will tell you the complete amount to pay via paypal.Because of guaranty i will not sell the ttl.converters, but you can get them between 2.- and 30.-€ on the market. Be aware to buy a 5V version.

A reliable source for the TTL lead is Mouser

https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/FTDI/TTL-232R-5V-WE/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsgIz308WEU04nfkDx8j72Obf0AB%2B49AG8=

You might find that the delivery charge is high, so it’s also worth looking at another well-trusted supplier, CPC:

After some more investigating it seems that you can buy the single pins from TE Connectivity as part number 170293-1 . You can find them at rs-online, mouser currently has no stock but could have stock in like 4 weeks it seems. The important part is that you can buy them in packs of 10 or less instead of several thousand. Here's the tech docs, if you look at the bottom right, strips are the 170280 and single pins are 170293 https://docs-emea.rs-online.com/webdocs/0dad/0900766b80dadd42.pdf .

The plugs, I only found them at mouser, but they sell singles.

The FTDI cables, you can get them under different names, for example from sparkfun https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9718 . From the specsheet, ( http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/DevTools/FTDI%20Cable%205V.pdf ) this has the FT232RQ microcontroller in it which is the exact same chip as in the ttl-232r-5v cables ( https://docs-emea.rs-online.com/webdocs/138f/0900766b8138f77b.pdf )

I found the TTL converters at a local electronics shop and they ordered me the parts from RS and mouser, so I'm a happy camper.
