Just curious if anyone has compiled MemProxy (or something like it)
with HipHop.

Seems like a nice fit, not having to entire application, just the
proxy that assembles pages from various sources.

I have not tried it. That is an interesting idea. It should work fine.
Now I have a reason to play with it. I will report back here with my
findings.

Ah, just realised that HipHop doesn't come with either memcache/
memcached support, forgetting facebook use their own internal memcache
extension.

Well, I just tried building HipHop. I hope they work on making their
build process more sane. It is a bit involved. Even with a custom done
memcached layer in PHP, it could be fast as it would be compiled.

There is a thread on the hiphop-dev group, about facebook looking to
add a memcache extension, soon rather than later.
