I just wanted to take a second to thank Tom Richardson for the very useful presentation Friday night on how to make a cell phone holder.
Yesterday Spencer and I assembled one and he used it last night for his first foray into astrophotography, photographing the only thing in the sky last night ;)
The cell phone holder worked like a charm and Spencer set the whole thing up on his own. In fact, I supported him by very lazily sitting on the couch for the entire process. :o
Before this we've NEVER been able to frame anything in a cell phone camera through a telescope, let alone actually focus it.
If anyone cares about the technical details, he used his 8" f6 Dob reflector with a 32mm Plossl eyepiece and a 13% lunar filter. The phone was an iPhoneSE, no special software.
