Hey guys, will be back in Memphis for a week and a half starting tonight, is there anything going on?

Did you guys get a hackerspace? I saw the one in Portland, it was pretty cool.

They have just signed a lease on the makerspace. They are currently

Brandon got it for us. We just got the space officially yesterday. There is a ton of raw material that is there to do stuff with. We have comcast business with 5 ips being installed on Wednesday. We are primarily in the process of getting things setup but that will be a longish ordeal as there is so much to clean up/make use of. Feel free to hop in our irc sometime #midsouthmakers on freenode to see if someone is up there where you could drop by. Not much to see just yet, but it has been only one day.

The owner cleaned out A LOT, but there is still a ton of stuff there. There's quite a bit of raw materials for us to use, as well as quite a few tools of the owner that we're allowed to use. Right now we're going through the process of inventorying everything we have and organizing it. The yard is pretty much a disaster of raw materials / half broken - deconstructed machines / scrap metal.

Thanks for the offer but I think atm we've got it covered, we'd definitely like to see more of the 2600 group come to our meetings. We meet every Friday at republic coffee at 7pm. Once we get the space all set up you can count on us having membership drives and open houses to get people to come check it out. Our ultimate goal is to provide a space in the area to come work on projects / hang out / be part of a hacker/maker group.
