Help me please

Hi, I know some basics of php but want to get better. I learn by doing and having it explained to me. Reading on a website just doesn't work for me. I've tried. 

I have a project that I want to work on and wondering if someone with php skills would be willing to work with me on it to teach me. I'm not asking you to do the work but to let me do it and coach me and explain things to me when I need it. I hate having to always rely on someone else to do some coding so I want to learn to be able to do it myself. 

Anyone in the Memphis area willing to take on the challenge?
