Guys and girls. I noticed netflix didn't work with dolby vision. Dolby vision was working with cable unplugged(battery mode) but then windows hdr was switched off. So I tried windows hdr off then watch dolby vision in netflix and voila I could watch dolby vision content plugged. I tried kodi and the colors in movies were popping. Tried a video game and hdr was working. Made a profile to use multi zone in games. After playing windows hdr was on again. So I think... Windows is messing up our dolby. Screen. The laptop is programmed for. Dolby without using hdr in windows.. If you use windows hdr move the hdr bar in the hdr settings all. The way to the left as we don't need correction on these mini led screens. Let me know your experience. BTW this is not driver dependent. Windows needs to upgrade their hdr software. One note as far as I can see the mini led is 10 bit dolby vision coded not 12 bit like oled.
Hello, why can i utilize dolby vision only on few little notebook like lenovo's? It's no sense that you can play in dolby vision on the xbox and no on windows with a 3090ti...
You should really enable dolby vision to everyone.
Hi All, I am evaluating Emby with a 1 month premier pass. I was/am using Plex but the DVR function has stopped working so I thought I would try Emby. The DVR using Hauppage PCIe card works as advertised so I thought everything was great... But, about half of my Dolby Vision movies/shows only display in HDR10. I am using a Shield TV 2019 Pro in conjunction w/ a receiver capable of all the popular audio formats (7.1, atmos, etc) so I never need transcoding. Plex plays all the dolby vision movies/shows correctly including the Disney/Netflix (dolby 5??) as well as the Dolby Vision versions from pure HEVC mkv/mp4 UHD backups.
So it seems like I can either choose OTA DVR or Dolby Vision! I tried Jelly Fin and it has it's own issues and Kody's not really a server. Any advice? If i can get this Dolby Vision working I am planning on getting a lifetime Emby Premier, otherwise I will just wait until Emby catches up.
Agree, try sideloading the version @arrbee99 mentioned. I have the same setup as you and I haven't had any issues with Dolby Vision recently. Any particular movies giving you an issue? Last time I tried I believe I played Aquaman with no issues, but it would be interesting to hear which movies and which Dolby format you're having issues with.
I think the Dolby Vision problem has went away with the beta version of the Android app, at least for the spot checks that I did! Thanks To All!
I do have one comment and may post this in a separate post. Since I had good luck with the Beta Emby App on Android I thought I would try the beta Emby Server for Windows version embyserver-win-x64-4.8.0.21. This version could not detect the Hauppage TV Tuner card, So I re-installed Version 4.7.11.0 and it found the card again!
I hope that beta does NOT make into the release as is or my Hauppage card will probably stop working!
I recently purchased a 55" 4k QLED with HDR and Dolby Vision + ATMOS support. I have had several Roku tv's and have had no issues with HDR. The problem I am having is that i'm connecting my Xbox Series X to the TV the same way I had done with my previous TV. I then go to the inputs and change the HDMI input to 2.0 as this is what i've had to do with my previous tv to get HDR to work. However, Upon changing the input to 2.0 my xbox will not allow a resolution above 640x480. I then can set it to 1.4 the tv will support 4k but no HDR or Dolby vision. I have gone into the hdmi hidden menu and can validate the hdmi input is at 1.4 when I tell it to set the hdmi input to hdmi 2.0 it then says input ** is unknown as if there is an issue with hdmi 2.0 on this tv. Moving on, hdr, dolby vision work perfect when i launch netflix, however, launching netflix on the xbox series x provides no dolby vision, the settings on the xbox state that the tv supports dolby vision for streaming and video. Not sure what is going on with the HDMI ports on this tv but 2.0 appears to be broken.
I've found that I seem to be having the exact same issue.
I recently purchased the Onn 50" QLED Roku TV (100071700) on July 12, 2022. -qled-4k-uhd-hdr10-frameless-roku-tv
My PC has an RTX 2060 KO, which supports HDMI 2.0 and 4k@60Hz. I can run games on it at 4k 60hz just fine. -specs/evga-rtx-2060-ko.b7575
I'm using a certified HDMI 2.1 48Gbps 4k@120Hz cable, and tested several HDMI cables since I started encountering this issue.
Several weeks ago, while having the TV connected to my PC as a 4K display running at 60hz, it started consistently and repeatedly reverting to a generic 'Digital Display' at 1024x768 resolution, and it could only manually be raised up to 1920x1080 in the display settings. This might possibly related to the August 4th Software Update (currently running 11.0.2, build 4138)? It usually happened whenever I opened the browser, and today I discovered that it happens specifically when I try to access DRM/HDCP? content, such as Amazon Prime on the PC. I also meanwhile have been unable to access HDR in Windows. Then I discovered this thread while trying to troubleshoot. After messing with the TV settings, I've found that my PC can only see or access the TV when the HDMI input is set to Compatibility Mode (1.4) rather than Standard (2.0). It will not see the TV at all initially when it is set to Standard. Finally, whenever I try to actively switch the input from working Compatibility to Standard mode, it consistently reverts to the generic 1080p 'Digital Display' mentioned above. This seems to distinctly be an HDMI 2.0 or HDCP issue. I sure hope that this can be fixed with a firmware update, because using the TV to watch 4k content through my PC is a key point of my setup.
If you are still unable to resolve the issue, can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
Once we have this information, we will be able to pass along the information to the appropriate Roku team to investigate further.
However, after some exploring I found there were some additional setting in the tv's advanced sound settings that had not activated, ... I changed them to dolby digital plus and pass through and it seems to have worked!
Thanks Ben. I think the setting I found for PCM that I set to auto has done the trick. I am now seeing Dolby for Netflix 5.1 movies. Still saw Stereo PCM for Dolby Atmos demos on YouTube but they may be my slow internet connection
This is brilliant thank you, I have the same tv and soundbar and couldn't figure out why it was only pcm 2.0. It was driving me mad.. changed my audio settings to pass through in the LG and left the digital plus option to auto and its working perfectly. Thank you!
I'm pretty sure that only matters for the internal speakers.. Once the audio is set to pass through.. the TV let's the sound bar do all the work and allows the app to speak directly with with soundbar.. im no expert but that's what I took from it.. mine is greyed out but set to on.. if it was bothering you, you could try change the audio output to TV internal speaker, turn it on.. then change the audio back to e-arc and it should grey out but be set to on.. but I don't think it matters, the sonos system tells you what signal its outputting and if you go to the sonos app and click settings, then system, then about my system and scroll down you should see what audio format each speaker is receiving... again I'm no expert but that's what I picked up googling stuff and this forum.
To check for sure.. search 'atmos' on netflix. It will give you all the dolby atmos titles.. pick one, let it play and go check your sonos app. As long as you see it in both places in the app then you're fine. Here's what I see when I watch 'our planet' on netflix in dolby vision-atmos.
When apple tv 4k is blocked in pcm stereo, i just "turn off" normally the apple tv. I wait 30 seconds to be sure apple tv, tv and sonos are in stand by mode. After this i turn on apple tv with official remote and now it's works !!!
