Like the last dim sum and boba sale, here is the tentative schedule for the dim-sum boba sale. I left the names blank in order to assign roles. Just respond back what you want to do. Be sure to fill out the sign-up sheet that Kim Ngan has put up!

Plan for Set-up

DIM SUM

8 AM - Leave UCLA to Chinatown (Vina and    _____               : Vina will decide once confirmed with place and people able to go)

8:30 AM - 9AM - Pick up order (let restaurant sign and stamp at 10AM); Ben and Triet carry down tables and set up (set up MEMO sign only; Johnson will have the rest of the signs in his locker - bring @ 9AM)

9 AM - 10 AM - Drive back from Chinatown; sell bracelets

10 AM - Dim sum drop-off (Johnson, and_______________ bring back the dim sum and deliver to Court of Sciences); Vina drives back to apartment to drop off his car

 

BOBA

11-11:30 AM - Jeannie pick up ____________  at Ackerman Turnaround with 1 cooler and drive to Volcano Tea House

11:30 - 11:45 AM - Pick up and load up boba

11:45 - 12 PM - Drive back

12 PM - Boba drop-off (People signed up at 12PM bring back up; please come at the Ackerman Turnaround @ 12PM); Jeannie drives back to apartment to drop off her car

I’m part of a non-profit organization on campus called Medical, Educational Missions and Outreach (M.E.M.O.). Our humanitarian organization has the goal of  providing for under-served communities abroad and local by addressing health and education, much like __________ does. This quarter, we are putting on a special event called Kids’ Day on Saturday, June 1st, 2013 (National Children's Day), inspired by an existing program we do abroad called the Hope Program. On this day, we will be underprivileged children at UCLA’s Sunset Recreation Center through various organizations along with any other kids that would like to attend. The whole idea of this day, as it is with the orphans we visit in Vietnam through M.E.M.O.’s Hope Program, is to play games and inspire kids to be healthy, active, and balanced despite their struggles. We would like to invite kids from all over to this event, so I'm wondering if perhaps we could bring the ___________ kids to the event. Please let me know if this is possible; I think it would be a lot of fun as a _____ event. We're hoping to get an accurate number of kids attending to provide enough food and activities for them.

If transportation to the UCLA campus might be an issue for your kids, perhaps we can bring the event to a location closer to the kids. In any case, please let us know

3. if you can transport the kids to UCLA’s Sunset Recreation Center on campus or have their parents drop them off on campus

4. if you’re interested in having the event near the kids’ school/neighborhoods

This event will require lots of student volunteers to set-up and run various games and activities for the children. We would like to inspire the kids by showing them a memorable time at Kids’ Day, where we can engage the children in friendly competition and cooperation with their peers along with the many scholars, athletes, leaders, and quality community members attending UCLA. If any ______ members would like to help, please sign up to volunteer your time on Saturday, June 1st. The event will be lots of fun. We will provide free refreshments, snacks, and [hopefully] an event t-shirt for each volunteer. Thank you for your support and the positive impact you will be making in these the lives of these children.

After use of my bad Chinese, I was able to order dim sum for the sale! Hooray! :D

@Vina: the order has been placed and ready for pick up at 9AM. Just tell them "John" made the order and it is for sale at UCLA. The order is: 125 BBQ buns (cha siu bao), 60 egg tarts (dan tat), 275 shrimp dumplings (har gow), and 150 pork dumplings (siu mai). The total should be $269 (last time, we didn't have to pay tax since we were from UCLA - yay for UCLA student discount; plus, the guy there was nice!). I am not sure if you will get the discount again, but just try? I will ask Christine to bring extra just in case. The information is (please ask Tuan for advice to get there):

Also, when parking I suggest you turn left onto the street before Spring Street (and turn right into the parking lot) so that you are near their kitchen door so that it'll be easier to load into the car. See below :)!

I think the place scamed CCB :(... I ordered less than that for CCB and they charged us 360 :(((. Vina: make sure to check the pricing before paying and ask them to itemize everything so that it is clear how much we are paying.
