3. FB event has been made and will be available soon. Here is the sign up sheet for the event : Click Here

christine's update since she won't be at meeting:

Bracelets = $94 (forgot to subtract the money that was already in there when it was counted)
Lemonade = about $0.20 to make a cup, so we profit $0.80 a cup and last time we were able to make about 130 cups. Therefore total profit: ~$105

Last time I talked to the fundraising chairs, they asked me whether or not they should do boba sale or lemonade sale. I'm not sure if they checked to see if we can do boba sale more than once a quarter yet. But I told them that boba sale is definitely more profitable than lemonade sale.

Boba = about $1.50 a cup, we profit $1.50. We usually sell about 100 cups. Therefore total profit: ~$150 (in my opinion, boba is also less work and easier to sell)

btw can you email an update on the treasury though after bracelet making? and did you talk to fundraising chairs about projected profits for lemonade sale? (i forgot waht it was from last time but you probably already calculated it already but it would just be nice to share the numbers with everyone)

also just a concern, but is it going to be hot enough for lemonade on thursday?
I checked the weather and it says a high of about 65.. I don't remember how warm/cold it was the last time we sold lemonade.

Calling doctors for Gala
I've divided up the remaining contacts and each person will be calling a few places. Though newly assigned ones are closer to the bottom of the doctor page, there is a change you've been assigned one further up. If you've already made calls, don't forget to follow-up and update the spreadsheet.
(Ben, it would be great if you can look up and contact some of the places that don't have a number written in.)

[from forum] These businesses should be able to speak English, so no worries to any non-Vietnamese speakers, although Vietnamese is always a plus.
When you make calls:
1) Introduce your name and explained that you are a part of MEMO, an organization run by Dr. Duy Nguyen in Fountain Valley (the Dr. Duy Nguyen is very very important lol)
2) Briefly explain MEMO (10 seconds VERY BRIEF: we are an org that hope to provide medical, educational and monetary aid to impoverished villages in Vietnam)
3) Mention that we have sent a package/invitation to them regarding our fundraising banquet/GALA (please make sure that you know about GALA's logistic: time, place, ticket price, entertainment, raffle (Please ask if you are unsure)). Ask if they have received the invitations. 1) If they have, ask if they would like to help us. 2) If they haven't ask if they would like to hear more about it or want information sent/faxed. Move on to step 4.
4) Ask if they would like to help us in one of the following 3 ways: 1) Purchase tickets/tables to attend banquet. 2) Purchase ad space to appear on our program and screen at banquet 3) Donate directly. (Again, make sure the caller knows information about these 3 ways. If they went to spon run, they should know it relatively well. If anything, all information can be found in the files forum. Please ask me if you have any questions.)
5) If they wish to purchase ticket, ad space, donate, please introduce to them the online buying option. Tickets will be picked up at Will call on banquet day if they buy a ticket, and Ticketing Logistic Committee will send them a confirmation email once they buy the tickets.
6) Once you make the call, note down the result on the Notes column of the spread sheet, and then write their name on "PERSON contacted"

im sure you hear this enough from me, but please push for selling tickets. I know you guys have lemonade this week, but I please do keep in mind that banquet is top priority right now. Please continue to encourage your members to sell tickets everytime you see them (like during the sale) and report to christine quick (Even with your own sale). (Just saying: no banquet = no money = no mission trip = no one gets helped). Thanks guys!!

Hi Guys,
We need someone to sign up for closing shift. I was going to do it, but then something came up and I have to go to China Town with my uncle at 1 on Thursday, so I can't do it, which means I can't help with clean up.
Sorry for such late notice, is anyone free to help out with clean up?
Thank you

Hello Everyone,
I'm so sorry for this late notice, Johnson told me to make the call, so I'm going to cancel the lemonade sell. I'm so sorry for being stubborn and decide to have lemonade sale on Thursday without looking into all the pros and cons. I will buy the frozen strawberry from MEMO, so don't worry about that. With the mix, we can use it for next lemonade sell.
I think I"m just trying to have more fundraising events since we haven't done much this quarter and it's already week 4. This quarter has been extremely stressful for me. Sorry if I sound whiny or complaining a lot when I"m with you guys, but I think Johnson and I just really want to keep up the good work from last quarter.
Thank you for being so supportive with the Fundraising team. We really do hope to fundraise more.

hey kim, frozen strawberries last a while right? I'm sure we can just keep them in the freezer until our next lemonade sell (which I'm assuming will be later this quarter, so it won't be very long at all)

and if you really want a fundraiser for this week, I don't think it's too late to do krispy kreme? or something else that doesn't require a lot of prep? (I like the idea of hot cocoa, but I'm kind of stumped on how to get hot water).  I don't mind picking things up early tomorrow morning either if they're open.

but of course, it's up to you & Johnson. and don't stress about it, you've been doing a great job (:

hello! we did play with the idea of krispy kreme for a while today but decided not to do it becuase we weren't sure how well it would sell. kim ngan asked vch and they had trouble selling it so with such late notice and not a lot of discussion with all board members to go for it or not, we decided not to sell it tomorrow.

we will move memonade to next week or the week after

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to emphasize that it was not only Kim Ngan's decision to cancel fundraising this week but it was my decision as well. I fully back up Kim Ngan. We both made the decision to cancel the event together as co-fundraising chairs. We felt that it was not only the weather at fault but that we also need to focus our efforts toward Gala. Kim and I will be calling doctors tomorrow as well as take care of anything that needs to be taken care of. As Tuan has noted, we should focus on Gala. Without Gala, there will be no 7G.

As for Krispy Kreme, I was actually with Kevin in fundraising for Krispy Kreme. Selling Krispy Kreme was one of our fundraising requirements for PhiDE. We had to sell 25 boxes, but...it took such significant effort to sell them. We had to sneak around the hill to sell them after we had boxes leftover from selling on Bruinwalk. It was much more work than necessary. I ended up having to buy a whole box to make things easier. I don't feel that Krispy Kreme would be that great in my opinion. I agree with Kim Ngan in having more trouble than necessary selling them. We may consider them later on, but I don't think it is worth our time (like Rubio's).

Best,
Johnson
