hello everyone,

Amanda and I are both extremely sorry about the miscommunication that happened today. Hope Ben read the text I sent him to everyone but if not, basically we have no excuses. Both Amanda and I were running a little late and were under the impression that not a lot of people were at the meeting and following many other board members' suggestion, we cancelled it. (before knowing that actually, everyone who was supposed to come to meeting today came... but a little late) But this will NOT happen in the future again and we truly apologize for tonight.

Please bear with us as we will do our announcements and recaps through email this week:

Vina and Johnson, can you guys update us on the hiking social- how it went and how communication was? I would like to say that Cece called me and apologized for lack of UCI turnout. She said there was a huge miscommunication becuase through word of mouth a lot of members said they would only go if this person goes etc... but becuase nobody clicked attending on the event page and they were unable to see who signed up on the document, they didn't go. She suggested next time we have an open sign up sheet so they can see attendees.

Vina and Amanda, were you able to find bracelet materials? We need these soon as Gala is coming up in about 3 weeks! =)

KimNgan and Johnson- any update yet on the boba fundraiser?

We hope ben and jeannie were able to fill everyone in on updates about Kid's Day. It seems more set and stone after we had a separate meeting to discuss it yesterday =) I'm assuming there are no minutes so can both of you update everyone on writing abotu Kids day on the kids day thread? (Also update about the meeting today with olive crest!)

Lastly, and most importantly, at our one on ones last quarter, interns all said they would really like to learn what each board member position entails. SO, in the next two weeks, we are asking that EACH board member position set up a meeting with the interns to discuss your roles, show them documents you use, how you plan etc... just everything abotu what you do for MEMO. Please contact them personally and PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS HAPPENS!!!! deadline = next fri! =) thanks! and the meeting could be anything- dinner dessert snack whatever u guys want!

Hey everyone!

To first pass around the ball: 

Hiking Social: We had all 7G goers go except for Kevin due to a SEA Admit emergency that he had to stay back. As for board, it was just me, Vina, Ben, and Ngan. For UCI, it was Vi, Long, Ken, and Ben. According to my knowledge of what happened, communication was great except for rides. Jeannie was supposed to drive, but when I called her last Saturday morning to figure out what happened, she was not specifically told that she had to drive. As a result, she was not able to drive people to there. Thank you again to Tuan for letting us borrow his car for the social at such short notice (thank you to Ngan for driving as well)! Main miscommunication was just the rides, which should have been taken care of the night before instead of 3am. We will be sure to go over improvements when we meet up with 7G goers again during week 4. As for UCI's attendance, we greatly appreciated those who had came; we will be sure to ask 7G goers about an open sign up sheet for future events. In the end, we walked through some awesome trails and even a maze, found the most epic slides, and had delicious banh mi for lunch. 

Boba Sale: Still no response from Cindy. If she does not email me back by Wednesday night, I will give her a call on Thursday.

Intern Shadowing: Sounds good! Kim Ngan and I will set something up with the interns!

Additional Hiking Social Comments: Overall, I think 7G communication improved greatly after we had that last meeting & the group text was created.  I know they did meet in person to discuss rides & finalize all the details, which is definitely improvement from before (though I'm not sure why it was announced so last minute - about 1.5 hours before it took place, I think if they had announced it even sooner in the day, more people would've been able to make it).  There is definitely still room for improvement though in terms of them working together as a team, and hopefully that will improve after a couple more socials & meetings.

7G/Board Social: Johnson sent out a doodle last week to see when most 7Gers would be available for a 7G & board social for this week, and hopefully we will be planning one for Thursday night!  So look out for that! (Johnson & I are planning out details right now and will let you know asap).

7G Meeting: Johnson & I are also planning on having another 7G meeting some time next week to discuss with them how planning for the hiking social went, and also to start planning for the karaoke fundraiser (for week 6).

Bracelet Materials: I was having a hard time finding physical actual stores we could go to to buy bracelet materials, but Amanda and I are discussing a few online options right now for some new charms, and hopefully we'll decide on one soon.  I believe that we still have quite a few materials left to make around 100 or so more bracelets though if we want to go ahead and finish using what we have now?

vina/amanda: would you guys be able to choose the bracelet materials by this sunday at the latest? that way we can say it has about a week to come (if we're ordering online) and during week 5 we can possibly hold a bracelet making party? as well as have the materials for work day friday and saturday?
