Finally the team of memento database has implemented this (in my opinion) very useful function: "Ability to insert an image into the image field by URL
Through this update, the bookstore data space can be managed intelligently. The images are usually the elements that occupy the most memory on the disc and considerably weighted the library.
My necessity would therefore be to fully exploit the synergies between memento database and Google Drive to keep the images cataloged and storage only through the cloud.
The problem is that Google Drive does not directly generate permalink that reach the specific JPG file.
To do this you can use a permalink capture service like this: https://sites.google.com/site/gdocs2irect/
In this way I can get a clean link that gives me back an image that I can fully manage from the cloud.
In my specific case, I manage thousands of images (receipts, products, screenshots); Converting the URL every time to load the image is very expensive.
I thought about the use of a trigger that made a call to the service insertion (active on https://sites.google.com/site/gdocs2direct/
) to convert the value inserted in the URL field in the link thus generated a file Image loaded in a Google Drive folder can be easily connected to a mere item.
Thank you very much.
