I'm just starting using this database so it is possible that I am missing something obvious.

Is is possible to add or remove field value choices from a single or multiple field choice while you are adding a record that includes that field?

If I change "edit in list" to checked, I still am not able to add or remove list choices unless I go into edit library and then edit the list choices from there.

thanks,  Jim

For single-and multiple-choice lists, if you use the older forms of these field types, the solution is readily available. The newer field types Checkboxes and Radio Buttons do not, but the older field types Single-choice List and Multiple-choice List have a parameter in the field edit card called "Creation of items while an entry is being edited". If you set that to true/on, you'll be able to add list items on the fly (from the entry edit card).

I am having the same problem. I'm using the desktop version of Memento for Mac and am unable to edit field values while making a new record. I also have the Memento app on my Android phone and this feature works just fine. A "plus" icon appears next to the list so I can create new field values if necessary. In the desktop version I have tried checking and unchecking the "Edit in List" checkbox with no apparent change either way. Anyone else have luck with this? I don't see anywhere with an option for "Creation of items while an entry is being edited" like Bill is talking about. :(

Maybe you're right. I seldom use the desktop edition.

Make sure, when you compare the desktop and mobile editions, that you use the same field type. Only the single-choice and multiple-choice list field types have the option to "Create new elements from a entry" (sic); the radio-buttons and checkboxes field types don't. And note the wording of the option above. It's not the "Edit in list" option; that's something different.
