Hi. Longtime user. Always loved the app.
The other day, I opened the Android app, only to see "No Libraries" in big letters. My settings and customizations (shortcuts etc) were all there... but every single library was gone. I restored from the latest automatic backup, and thankfully the libraries returned... but almost all of them have no images any longer - just error messages displaying the file address where Memento had stored them on my SD Card and saying the file is not there.
Nothing happened to my phone. None of my other apps have had any issues. I've checked the SD Card. It's not corrupted. The libraries and images just... disappeared. No longer there. Hours and hours of finding/editing/organizing images in my libraries and it's all just gone. The worst part is, I have no idea WHY this happened, which makes me feel like there's absolutely no way to guarantee it won't just happen again.
To be honest, I was planning on buying a subscription for the Cloud Storage anyway, as I've been using the app a lot more this past year than I have in the past and wanted the added security. But now it feels almost like blackmail of some kind: Pay for Cloud Storage or we'll randomly delete everything for no apparent reason. I'm honestly torn between throwing the app away entirely and paying for a yearly subscription. If I could understand WHY this happened and how to prevent it from happening again, I'd feel a lot better about continuing to use the app, let alone financially supporting it.
Also, some of the libraries DO still have images... but I can't see the file locations to try to determine why THOSE libraries' images weren't deleted while all the others were. Does anyone have any idea what the difference might be? The deletion of the libraries themselves doesn't bother me that much (since they were easily restored), but the loss of all my images is really gutting me.
I don't even know what I'm looking for here. I'm just heartbroken and angry... and looking for some kind of explanation for why this happened.
