how to refresh widget

Hi, can anybody help me? I am using mementřo database WIDGET (I use simply "tasks" database). Every day I update whole database with new date via triger javascript (change of colour of FINISHED tasks to grey colour, change of number of days till tasks etc). My problem is that WIDGET is not updated. Only way is to manually update one of records and then is updated also widget.

Does anybody know how to refresh widget by javascript?

If you want to keep it simple, just add your ID field as an integer and set it's default to autoincrement. Then you're done.

There's not much to understand. If you create an Integer field ID, set its display option (I call it its role) to Entry name, and set its Default value to Autoincrement, you will have unique entries serialized by the ID field.

If I really want a Name or Title as the entry name, I add it ahead of ID in the FIELDS list, with the ID field guaranteeing uniqueness, in case you have 2 John Smiths. To ensure you never get non-unique entries, in Edit Library in the MAIN tab, set Unique Fields to Entry name, which will catch all entry name fields in order of their definition in the Edit Library FIELDS tab. Then, if there's ever a glitch (though there shouldn't be one), Memento will force you to make the entry name unique before saving the entry.

If you're talking to me, I'm afraid I posted the autoincrement message to the wrong thread. Please disregard it.

Since you didn't respond to Beth's question, let me point out that I'm presuming that when you're referring to WIDGET, you're referring to some template you may have found and downloaded from the template catalog. In my case, I've never heard of it.

These templates are known only to those who have searched for the template, downloaded it, and used it, which is likely to be very few people. The forum members who respond with help rarely use the same template as you, so at a minimum, it would be wise to announce that you are referring to a template from the catalog. Also, what you feel constitutes an update to WIDGET may not be clear to helpers, so you might be more specific about what it is that's not happening. Then you might receive more & better responses from the forum.

I would like to see this fixed also.

I had a similar problem (in 2017 or 2018). When I creat a record automatically using Tasker app, the Memento scripts that are supposed to run when a record is created do not run. The answer I got was that it would not be fixed.

It might be easier to get the widget update problem fixed. They could add a javascript function like .updatewidget()
