Calculating sum of linked Bonuses in the Staff Directory

Hi, I’m new to Memento and I’m having trouble trying to figure out how to do something:

I have two databases: one Rewards and Bonuses database for wildlife rangers at our national park. The other is a Staff Directory of all our rangers.

When a ranger makes arrests an elephant poacher, his team shares a fixed reward (ie. $100 divided by 4 rangers). So I presume that the best way is  to make an entry in the Rewards and Bonuses database, to show the total ($100), and sum per ranger ($25).  Then to add list the rangers in a ‘Link to Entry’ field (I’ve set to “many to many”, is that correct?).

Then, in the Staff Directory, I’ve got it to show the rewards on the cards of the staff, with linked transactions at the bottom. 

But what I’ve been unable to do is for the card to give the current balance of how much that ranger is currently owed in rewards.  Is there a way to show a running total which calculates each ranger’s balance?

Die Verknüpfung müsste " Ein zu Viele " sein . Du musst dann für jeden Ranger ein Eintrag machen . Für die Boni Bibliothek hast du Datum der Ergreifung , Ranger ( Verlinkte Feld ) , Betrag , Ausbezahlt ( Ja-Nein) . Wenn du dies Bibliothek " Gruppiren " erhälst du eine Listen mit allen Ranger die du Aufklappen kannst und darin sind allen Einträgen . Wenn du nur die " Offenen " sehen willst musst du sie Fildern ( Ausbezahlt = Nein ) . Wenn du den Betrag ausbezahlt hast musst du das Feld " Ausbezahlt " auf Ja umstellen .

The link should be “One to Many”. You then have to make an entry for each ranger. For the bonus library you have date of capture, ranger (linked field), amount, paid out (yes-no). If you “Group” this library you will receive a list with all rangers that you can expand and all the entries are in there. If you only want to see the "open" ones you have to filter them (paid out = no). Once you have paid out the amount, you must change the “Paid out” field to Yes.

Thank you Ernst for your kind reply and advice. My challenge is how I get the individual ranger cards, in the Staff Directory, to calculate a total of the cash currently owed, from all the transactions assigned to them in the Rewards and Bonuses database?

Sehe ich das so Richtig . Du willst von der Boni Bibliothek den Offenen Betrag in der Personal Bibliothek sehen . Dafür ist ein Skript in der Personal Bibliothek notwentig . Nicht einfach aber machbar .

Am I right with that . You want to see the open amount from the bonus library in the personal library. This requires a script in the Personal Library. Not easy but doable.

We don’t mind paying something for a Memento expert to write a script. Would you know anyone on here who might be able to assist us? 

It’s a real shame that ALL of the templates are so incredibly basic, when the app is clearly capable of SO much!  Even if there was a premium pay-for selection of more advanced templates, with this kind of functionality, it would show-off what the app is actually capable of.

If the link is in the Bonuses library to the Staff library, it has to be many-to-many or else you won't be able to divide a bonus across multiple staff. I suggest you link the Staff library to the Bonuses library instead one-to-many. Now you can divide across any number of staff. Then, to get your bonus total per staff, you can use Aggregation to Sum up the bonuses and maybe use Grouping to get subtotals, if they apply.

Maybe I'm wrong, but if the link is from persons to bonuses, and if there are Lookup fields (or JavaScript or Calculation) for the bonus & other amounts, I don't see why aggregation in the persons library wouldn't be sufficient. If you want totals within an entry across all types of compensation, that can be done in a very short & simple JavaScript field, and those totals can then be used in aggregation for groups and bottom totals using Sum.
