Text Address to Location Field

There doesn't seem to be a way to enter an address directly into the Location (map) field and then update that location field to that address. So instead I have a separate Address field where I add the address, and then via script I'd like to update the Location field to point to that address entered. That way one can paste into the Address field an address and see the location of that address in the  location map.

How can I do this? Thx.
