I have a database that used to sync perfectly with Google docs but lately it will not. I have been ignoring it but unfortunately, I've lost some data because they syncs weren't working and my backup was bad. I was able to get most of it back from an older backup but I'd like to know what I need to do to get this fixed?

Thanks,
Todd

I have the same problem on both my Nexus 4 and my Nexus 7.  The database used to sync fine with no problems.  Now I get the 400 Bad Request error and sometimes it shows some random code below it as well.  I love Memento and it is bugging me that it stopped working all of a sudden.

I am using a Galaxy Nexus GSM, not sure if that is relevant though I would be interested to know if this is impacting Google phone users exclusively or we're just "unluckydroid".

Still get the same error but the code stays on the screen so I can see it. I took a screenshot of it but I'm not sure how I can post it here.

I got the same problem. I think it's related to sync of images. see my post at Google+

2.3.2 successfully synced my library without any errors. I'll try it on my other devices to see if everything is good.

I Have memento database 2.3.2 Pro and haven't been able to sync. to google drive. I keep receiving the following message:

400 Bad request. The element type gsx:dvdn must be followed by either attribute specifications, ">" or "/>"

However, the fotos associated to the field "fotos" of this particular database were sucessfuly uploaded to the google drive and the correspondent spread sheet with all fields was correctly created but the data were not uploaded because of the message received as above.

I also received a 400 error but I noticed that mine is when I try to sync from the main My Libraries screen rather than from within the specific linked library app.

I'm using the latest updated version of Memento. The error message I receive is "400 Bad Request. Invalid query parameter value for grid-id."

Syncs work perfectly once I'm directly in the specific library. Once out of it and back on my main "My Libraries" screen, the 400 error comes back every time.

Hope that helps.

I finally found out what the problem was. I had created a Database Field called "DVDn°" (integer) and this symbol on the field's name was creating the problem for some reason that I don't fully understand. So, I renamed the field as "DVD number" and the sync with the Google drive started working fine.

What, then, should have been the problem in this case? Tecnically, speaking.

Hi, I'm having the Sam problem with a 400 error message whenever I try to link to Google Docs. The message is:

400 Bad Request
Element or Attribute do not match QName production.
QName::=(NCName':')?NCName.

I do have a field name that is just an underscore and figure this might be the problem but I am unable to rename the field as the database is linked with Google docs.

Please help

I'm not sure about the 400 error in question but try migrating all your data to a new library:

1. Ensure you have the latest version of Memento installed (the latest version resolved a few 400 errors)
2. Export your database as a CSV: Context menu > Settings > Export to CSV
3. Using a file manager, either transfer to PC or email to yourself (locate CSV in Memento folder)
4. Create a new library with the same (or very similar fields - possible leave the underscore to be safe)
5. Sync the new library with Google Drive - open in browser
6. Manually copy/paste the data and re-sync with Memento

This will recover all your data and eliminate the underscore as the issue.

I would try to avoid Importing the CSV via Memento as you will need the _ to be setup as the field.

Please post some feedback to let me know if the new database worked.

I get the same error. I do not have any oddly named fields though and I
don't think that is a problem.

Do you have any picture fields that might be referencing pictures that no
longer exist?

I think that might be my problem but I haven't had a chance to clear all of
the picture fields to see.

Error message "Element or Attribute do not match QName production."  means what your library have wrong a field name.
You can rename field: 1. unlink the library from google. 2. rename the field. 3. link the library.
Also ensure what you use last version of Memento.

Yes, I've tried that more than once and it doesn't fix the problem. Is there a limit to the number of fields that can be in the library and still successfully sync with Google Drive?

I noticed that there are two fields added to the spreadsheet headings, both are the same name as my image fields but have the string ".http" appended to them. My library does not have these fields and when I set it up to sync with Google, I did not specify to sync images to the cloud.

Hi Todd,

The only thing I can think of is try manually deleting the two extra fields alternatively why not setup a new library and manually copy and paste the data back in. I know it might be a little cumbersome but it will eliminate any behind the scenes stuff until perhaps a future patch is released.

hi,
this of course would be possible but hard to do: i've 170 items in one library, each one with many fields... but if there's no other way i'll have to do it.
thanks

I'm trying to rebuild one library and I've just created a new one, with the same fields (some of them were renamed).
The library is currently empty, with no entries.
When I synchronize, I get this same error msg, only if synchronizing files to Google Drive (though there's no entry or file to sync).
If I choose not to synchronize files there's no error msg (although there's still no entry to sync too, but I guess that's not important).

Hi Ricardo,

To confirm, are there definitely no special characters within the field names of your blank database? Also, you are currently using the latest versions of Memento (2.3.3)?

ricardo albuquerque

Hi Murdy,
2.3.3 here.
At that time I think I removed all special characters from field names. And the problem came only when I choose the cloud server for synchronization as Google Drive (If it's none, there's no problem or error message). Foot by foot I began to rename the fields again, adding some special characters such as this -,:';
I haven't already copy information to this library (my real database), but I have tried it with an "example" entry and it still synchronized ok, unless I choose to synchronize files (pictures) too.
Thanks

Hi Murdy, I discovered the source of my problem by recreating a dummy database using the export template, I deleted and recreated various fields an discovered I had 4 fields causing the problem, they were called "_", "1", "2" and "3" (the underscore was a text field, the numbers were pictures) it appears that the sync didn't like single digit field names.

To save me recreating the database and repopulating it, I removed the Google link from my original database, renamed the 4 fields and resynched it. Hey presto, it works perfectly.

Thanks for your advice.

Graham,

Many thanks for getting back, this is indeed very interesting and appears to be a bug.

I did a few trials of my own, it does seem to bomb when a single character field is created.

This may be of use for anyone else with similar unresolved issues.

Hi Murdy,
I'm new to memento, only found it yesterday.

To add to your findings, I had fields called 1st parent & 2nd parent.  When I synced to google the fields were created, but any info I added using google docs did not sync back to the database on the phone.  I renamed the fields to first parent & second parent, all works ok.

I'm running version 2.3.3 on android 4.1.1

Ok, now I know why I get the error message.

I kept backing up my database as I went along without any errors. One I was done, I unlinked from googledocs and re-linked, with the option "upload files (images) attached to records to cloud storage" ticked. Lo and behold I got the error. I unlinked again and tried to sync again without the option ticked. Error. I deleted all pictures in the database and synced again. Error. It seems my database got corrupted somehow and now it won't sync. Very annoying. I'm running the latest version of memento on 4.1.2.

Hi S Hohl,

Can you confirm that there are no special characters within the field names and none begin with a digit.

Alternatively, create a new library with the same fields, sync the blank database with Google Drive and copy/paste existing records from old to new.

Re-sync back to the phone (note, this may cause some complications in file locations and may need re-linked).

No form fields with special characters or beginning with digits.  Luckily I did a backup before I ticked the upload photo option and the database syncs fine. BUT as soon as I tick it, I get the error and any any subsequent attempts at syncing (without the option ticked) of the same database will fail. And again, if I restore the backup with exactly the same data it works like a charm.

Just ro clarify, I'm getting the same error as the screenshot as in Pierre Gauthier's post on Aug. 7

I had the solution to Google Drive sync. I think it is a bug in the settings of Memento.
When you sync the database with Google Drive the error 400 appear. After, you go in the setting of the database and in "Synchronizing files", you have to select "None" for the cloud server and the synchronization is correct.
Finally.

I don't have access to my sync settings. In settings I see the 'Settings Import/Export/Sync' section but no drop down. Another issue with this database?

I am getting the same "400 Error..." when I try to sync the files in any Library to Google Docs. The sync works fine for just the spreadsheet if I un-sync the files from Google Drive. I am running Memento 2.5.0 on 4.1.1. This seems to be some kind of permission error in the app. I know previous versions of Memento worked when syncing files because I can see them on my Google Drive.
