I have a database with over 70,000 records and 28 fields, one of which is a calculated field derived from four other fields. It doesn't include images. Typically, I need to reopen Memento app four or five times consecutively before I can access the database. Once I gain access, everything functions perfectly. I'm using a state-of-the-art Android mobile phone.

I've reached out to Memento's technical support, and their response has been that Memento isn't equipped to handle such a large volume of records. Their only suggestion has been for me to break down the database into smaller units, but that would significantly compromise the efficiency I achieve with this database.

Do you have any ideas that could help prevent these mentioned false starts?

Thanks.

I believe the main database component within Memento is SQLite. I think it is oriented around being an in-memory database system, but I've never used it directly. I mention it not because I know much about it, but if you Google it, you might learn something about its use of memory and how to get around problems or handle a large database.

If I were to guess, maybe it's dependent on how much base RAM is on the phone -- not the SD card, but base RAM. If the phone has 64GB instead of 16 or 32GB of RAM, it might load all in one go? I don't know.

When I bought the mobile phone last year, the maximum RAM I could find was 12 GB. I assumed it was enough because even though the database has a lot of records, the size of the CSV file with all the data didn't exceed 20 MB. But it's possible that I indeed need even more RAM.

Thank you very much for your interest, Bill.

That's just an untested guess. If there's some way to check out Memento on such a phone before buying it, that's be good.

Yes, that is what I had planned to do before buying a new mobile; but since I don't know when I will be able to do it, I have asked in this forum for some great idea to apply now.
Thanks Bill.

Hallo
Ist die Bibliothek mit der Cloud Synchronisiert . Das Abgleichen der Daten könnte auch zuviel  Zeit brauchen und daher der Abbruch . Ist meine Vermutung .

Hello
Is the library synced to the cloud? Matching the data could also take too much time and hence the termination. Is my guess.

Hello Ernst.

No, the library is not cloud synced, it's only local, on mobile.

Thank you.
