I've created database in Memento and have data saved in a .csv file (on external computer).
reading the manual and FAQ, the file needs to be copied to the Memento folder.
Where is is and how do I do that?
Put the file in Dropbox, but Memento doesn't offer a selection option, does it?
Would appreciate the help. Thanks all.

If I understand you correctly, the csv file is data that you want to import into a Memento library.

There are a number of requirements that the csv file must meet:
1. The first line of the csv must be the names of the fields.
2. The field names in the csv file must match the Memento field names exactly .
3. The order of the names must also exactly match the order in Memento.

To locate the Memento directory go to the Memento main menu, select Settings > Database location.
The popup will show two locations. The one that ends in memento.db is the one you want.

However the easiest way to do it is to upload the file from your computer to Google Drive, right click on it, and open it with Docs. This will create a spreadsheet that you can link to.
From the open library; Link to Google Docs > Link to existing document and select the correct one.

That should import the data into your empty library. NB If the library isn't empty the existing data will be overwritten.

Thanks JohnO.
Go as far as getting the file from iMac to GoogleDrive in .csv format but now how to get it from there to the Memento folder?
Right click on the .csv file does not link to Google Docs and from within Memento, the file can also not be selected/found/navigated to.

Should I take the microSD out and copy file manually to it from iMac? Would it even show in the Finder?

Sorry, I made a typo in my answer. Where I said "open with Docs", it should have been "open with Sheets".

Like this:
In Google Drive right click on the CSV file, then left click on Open With > Google Sheets.
This will create the sheet.

On your device open Memento, open the relevant library, touch the menu symbol > Link to Google Docs > Link to existing document and select the correct one.

Hope that makes it clearer.

Many thanks for your help. Don't know exactly how I got there as some things seems to go different but with some experimenting something worked and finally  got it imported. No remembering how I did it to create another database.... ;-)

Only challenge is now to remove white question marks in black diamond (one character) icons removed from the entries. Howthey got there from the Google sheet is a mystery tomes they don't show in there.....
