to MEME Suite Q&A
Hi team,

I am trying to install meme suit on Ubuntu. After following the steps and running meme it shows:  error: config file /etc/meme.conf could not be read: No such file or directory.

  • Test result: Pass all tests.
  • There is a file under the path $home/meme
  • I enter into meme and the file contains: bin  lib  libexec  share
  • use command cd /etc get into etc folder and then use ls -a list all files in this folder. I cannot see the meme.conf
  • using command "sudo find / -iname meme.conf" to find meme.conf and it's in snap/meme/44/etc/meme.conf , it is a read only file system.
What do I supposed to do?

Many thanks.
Elisa

Hi Elisa,

What tool are you using to install the MEME Suite? There is no 'meme.conf' file in the MEME Source tree. If you are using the conda package manager be aware that we have no connection to the conda MEME Suite package and don't support it.

The official MEME Suite source can be obtained here. The installation guide is here.
