It's been a good three or so years being the maintainer of memcache++
and at this time I just wanted to let everyone know that I had fun
working on the project. At this time though I am having trouble
keeping up with my commitments to various open source efforts (not
least of which is that other project attempting to do an HTTP
client/server library called cpp-netlib) as well as my day job (I just
started with Google Australia recently). With that I would like to let
others who want to take on the maintenance of the memcache++ project
to take on the challenge.
I used to have a lot of cool ideas that I wanted to try out with
memcache++ but unfortunately there's only so much time -- between work
and the family and cpp-netlib, there's hardly any more time to spend
on a memcache++.
So if you're reading this and you're using memcache++ in your project
and want to keep it alive, now's the chance to speak up and take the
challenge on. If you need help or insights into the code (in case the
code isn't as clear as you'd like) then you can reach me through email
(or through the list).
Have a good day everyone and I do hope to find someone step up and
take the reins on memcache++ development.
Cheers from down under!
