slow response from memcache

Hi,

I am using pecl/memcache library.

I am using memcache GET operation for 10,000 keys and getting
whoopingly an average of ~6 sec. as response time.

I think its Slow! Please guide me if i am wrong and whats going wrong
here causing such a slow response.
