ok, think the opening riff of zodiac. i accidentally figured that out with a 77 les paul that i totally miss. anyway, and this is TOTAL NERD TERRITORY

moving on, in that opening riff, it's open e, 12th fret e, then he bends the fucker off the neck to get to a third octave e.

anybody with me at this point?


if you're still there, then maybe you are. anyway, i'm trying to get the seller dude to figure out if his guitar can do that, and holy shit, that's a hard thing to explain it turns out.

i'm all into those EGC's that buzz is using, but those things can't pull it off. seems like it's weirdly specific to certain les paul customs.

fucking normals.

i've been geeking out over this all fucking day. watching videos where he never gets to the right note compared to the bullhead recording (live at UCLA in 93), then watching a video with what looks to be the same guitar - a 91 or 92 les paul custom 400 - where he hits it every single time. what the fucking fuck?

ok, putting the crack pipe down now.
