So I decided to get off my ass and encode my old MELVINS shows that I filmed.  Here's a link to my YouTube channel.  Two shows are up now and more to come....hope ya enjoy.

Yup, I have a tape Live at Cat's Cradle, NC April 19, 1994.  Quality still looks and sounds good.  I'll let you know when I get it up on YouTube.

How are you doing it? I have a whole box full of Melvins live VHS tapes from throughout the ages. (Traded for it, didn't tape them myself) I'd love to do the same with those.

Amazing! I remember the amp going kaput and them doing Hag Me with no guitar. Buzz went and sat outside in the parking lot. I bought a 'Pussy' shirt from that gig (still wear it) and was asked by a Charlotte cop to not wear it again 'until I got home' the following Sunday as me and my girl were having a stroll in downtown Charlotte. Hee.

Mr. Crushr24, I have had a wonderful day in two parts: one was waiting for the people from the water company to install a water meter in my kitchen, the other part was not stopping playing this video while they were here. When they'd finished, I had the two of them glued to the screen of my laptop for 40 minutes watching the same vid.

Neither of them had heard anything like it. (One liked REM and the other was barely out of the womb)

Some other things I remember from this gig: in the car on the way from Charlotte to Chapel Hill, we saw a sign on the side of the road which said, "SCRUMPY $? A GALLON" (I don't remember the price, but it was really cheap.) I made Barbara stop the pickup and bought fucking bottles and bottles of the stuff from this roaside scrumpy seller.

A couple of miles later, Barbara asked me why I'd bought so much scrumpy. I told her it was the cheapest scrumpy I've ever seen and we'd be hammered by the time we got to the gig.

She looked at me in a kind of, "Oh, you poor, poor foreigner" kind of way and explained that the American scrumpy is just apple juice. (The scrumpy we have in the UK is amongst the strongest cider available, sometimes at 8%.)

So: lesson learned.

Next: getting into the gig. We queued to get in and finally I got to the guy selling tickets. "ID", he said, not looking up. I gave him my UK drivers licence. It had my date of birth on it but not a photo. "I need a photo", he said. "I have to know you are over 18."  I told him to look at my face. He looked up. "Oh. No problem" he says.  Pfffft.

1. jacksonville still sucks

2. honky kills. like if zz top and ted nugent didn't start to suck

yeah, but not much. no crankenstein 7". i think they had five or six other 7"s (gaylord, invasion split, night goat reissue, and um....), a couple of the sugar daddy live 12"ers and the new record.

i only took a couple pics cuz i'm in the camp of it's kinda fucked up to go to a show and watch it through your phone.
