TAs can also serve as tutors or mentors for pre-service students in the Education Pathway. Tutoring is an activity that has short-term goals such as teaching pre-service teachers the information, theories, and applications in a way that will help them to perform well on an exam. Mentoring, on the other hand, is broader in scope with longer-term goals, such as providing pre-service teachers with information on learning strategies and attitudes toward their education that will help them not only pass the next test, but also to identify, clarify, and attain their future academic and professional goals. Students must be fully admitted to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) and pass all four sections of the GKE. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, and have passed the course you are requesting to serve as TA with a minimum grade of B.
