Hello folks,
A couple of things as we prepare for our meeting next week. This book's themes are less overt compared to last month--we aren't working with a book that is beating you over the head with the religious aspects, and we'll therefore being doing a bit more digging into this book. That being said, I would encourage you all to think about a couple of things as you are reading: the aging process and how we as a community of faith work through that process with our neighbors, also our care and stewardship of all aspects of creation, not just ourselves. I know that several of you have read the book previously, and I hope that you will be able to share how some of your thoughts have changed by reading it through a potentially different lens.
As a side note, I am working through this book with all of you, since it has been awhile since I've read it myself. With that, I had forgotten that this book can be a bit, gritty. In light of that, feel free to pass over any sections of the book you don't care to read--they obviously won't be pertinent to our conversations as a group, and I wanted to make sure to share that with you all.
I hope you all managed through our wonderfully icy, cold weather, and are having a wonderful week, and one last thing--feel free to bring along any stories you might have about trips to the circus--since I'm sure some of you probably have some great ones :-)
Peace and Blessings to you all,
Vicar Tina
