Hello Everybody!
As July 31st comes ever nearer, I wanted to make sure that I touched base with you all one last time, in order to hopefully give you a direction for the fall. As promised, I am attaching a list of potential book ideas for the future--this way if you get stuck or aren't sure where to go next you can work off this list if you want to. At our final meeting in June, we discussed possible directions that the group could take in the fall, and I think that those ideas should be revisited, that way they are still in your minds as September inches ever closer. We had discussed the possibility of one or two of you, depending on your desire, leading a month, and having the monthly leader(s) rotate every month, that way the task doesn't fall on only one person, but is dispersed throughout the group. So, if for some reason, you have a really busy month, you don't have to volunteer for that month, but likewise if you find yourself with a
slower schedule, that might be the month to lead the discussions. It is completely up to the group how you want to work meetings, in terms of how many times you meet and at what time. What I think would be a great idea, is if you all could decide as a group a date in August to meet together after church for just a few minutes to discuss the future of the group, and maybe get a date in mind for September. That way you aren't trying to coordinate over e-mail, and you can all be together to bounce ideas around. If there is anyone who feels called to lead in September you could decide that in August, so you have a good amount of forward momentum going into the fall.
I am leaving Kelly attachments of the flyers and the information for the newsletter, that way the only information she would need to get it in the bulletin would be the date of the meetings and the book being read--simple enough. In terms of the e-mail and website: as members of the group anyone can go in and add members, that way if more people decide to join in the fall you can just add their e-mail addresses. As of the 31st, I'll be removing myself from the group, and from that point it'll be run by all of you. The e-mail and website will stay the same, and nothing needs to be done to make that transition.
I think that's all--I'm sorry for such a lengthy message, but as I shared with you all in June, this group has meant a lot to me and I hope that it has for all of you as well. I truly hope that it can find a solid footing in the fall and continue on--you are such a strong group and I really think that the relationships formed over the last 6 months are ones worth cultivating and continuing. In case you might not have the website saved here it is again:
Peace and Blessings to All,
Vicar Tina
