Announcement: 4th South Asian Melioidosis Congress (4th SAMC)

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

 

We are thrilled to announce the 4th South Asian Melioidosis Congress (4th SAMC), scheduled to take place on 25th and 26th November 2025 in Guwahati, Assam, India. This prestigious event is jointly organized by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) New Delhi, Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) Dibrugarh, Regional Medical Research Center - North East (RMRC-NE), and Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.

 

The Congress will be held in close proximity to the renowned Kaziranga National Park (https://www.kaziranga-national-park.com/), famous for its population of the one-horned rhinoceros. Guwahati, nestled between the banks of the Brahmaputra River and the foothills of the Shillong Plateau, boasts a rich cultural heritage and a vibrant atmosphere, making it an ideal setting for scholarly discussions.

 

With a humid subtropical climate in November, Guwahati offers pleasant weather for our attendees. The city is well-connected through the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, with flights from major domestic and international hubs.

We invite researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals from around the globe to participate in this Congress. This is a unique opportunity to share insights, foster collaborations, and advance research on melioidosis, a critical public health concern in our region and beyond.
