Dear Plans growers,

Beside choosing seed germinated plants, which generally come for harvest in 10-12 years, it is good to choose for Clones which are almost uniform in growing, prepared from researched plants, they can stabilize all kinds of soils.

Plants sellers usually wants to sell their seed germinated plants. They are not uniform in growing. As seeds are collected from early aged plants, they don't grow properly. In block plantation, if you observe, only bordered plants grow well and most of them are so thin after two to three years. Every seed is having its own characteristic so as their growth is uneven.

We provide you 15 years R&D Clone which is the unique for its growth, quality and early assured harvest in just 6/7years. Good to invest. A plant can gives you Rs.4000/- income in 6/7 years time. So its a viable option to opt.

Check with all those suppliers who just sell you plants saying some stories and hide afterwards. None of them provide you a single buyer or even they don't have where this timber usually buy or utilized. They will sell their seed germinated plants. Not even they germinate themselves. Some labour collect baby seedlings from natural forests, most of them are from early aged plants, then they shift into to poly bags, will wait for 15-30days and simply will sell you. Such plants are available for as low as 3/- each to 6/- per plant. Cost is closer to Eucalyptus.

So why you go for such weaken plants and wait for long time to get yield from those uneven adult plants? We also came to know that, some sellers written contents that the Malabar Neem / Melia Dubia plant can give you 8000/tree and more and one can earn 20 Lakhs to 50 Lakhs or even more per Acre. How practically they claim for this?

Some of these new baby reselling companies collected Pictures form other people and reposted and posing that those are their own supply. How fun it is!

Dear enthusiast farmers, if you really wants to earn moderate income in 6/7 years, just choose the best quality Clones and save your time and affords.

Dear Pink Nurseries

Cloned plants are generally taken from mother plants by pruning the small aged branches and put in the bags and makeup those with fertilizers which is called direct propagation or artificial propagation which harms plants growth results.Even the root system doesnt be strong & healthy in the plants growth.

Where as seed germinated plants case: Seeds are collected from parent plants in the forest and are naturally propagated in the nurseries for about 6-8 Months germination process, in this seed germination process the success rate of plants is also 25% Only. One seed gives 4 plants. As this is a forest crop it doesnt grow in unifom basis, i have the authenticate sources too to prove this my statements.

There is a big contract plantation in andhra pradesh chittor dist near kadirey cheruvu about 175acres seed germinated plants. Now the plants are in one year stage. Which is health and giving good output.

There has been no research conducted in this plant regarding clones from mettupalayam forest college or even from kerala forest research institute as they suggest to go for seed germinated plants which gives good growth in plants. The person who introduced this crop to the media 'Dr.G kumarcvelu forest officer' and where now he is in state planning commission in tamiladu chennai.Give farmers the sources before you give such statements.

We are not claiming with stories but your hooking up with new stories from business mind and driving farmers into wrong direction. We can provide the farmers about the buyers.

So far this Melia Dubia was not ready for Harvest anywhere in India. The Plywood companies are purchasing the Big Trees in Mysore which were naturally Grown on the Bunds of the Fields. We can expect the Marketing only after the Product is ready. However we are Promoting a Company/NGO for Marketing of this Timber after Harvest as suggested by TNAU Officials. On the environmental front, the cultivation of Melia dubia tree will help reduce the atmospheric carbon-dioxide levels through carbon sequestration. This tree accumulates a biomass of 300 tonnes/hectares in six years, and removes 150 tonnes of atmospheric carbon-dioxide through sequestration. These consortia mode tree cultivation will help to protect the reserve forests of India, by reducing the pressure on them for supply of raw material, say Forest College experts.

The tree grows in all kinds of soil and the wood fetches a minimum of Rs. 7,500/tonne once it reaches a girth of 20 inches. The farmer will be able to get Rs. 6-8 lakh from an acre within six years, a source said. Now we are on the Job. Because this Timber is of multiple uses, there will not be any Problem for Market/Demand on the following reasons:

1. Govt. Of India has imposed a permanent Ban on drawing of Timber from Indian Forests.
2. Almost all Naturally Grown Trees were exhausted for the use of Firewood, Plywood, and Timber etc.
3. Presently most of the Furniture is being imported due to lack of quality Timber in the Market.
4. Most of the Timber for Construction is being imported.
5. Being it a Fastest Growing Tree in the World, it will give ample Timber on its Harvest.
6. It is a Fact that almost all the Plywood Industries are importing Timber for their Raw material Timber needs.

Currently the melia dubia plants are being purchased in hosur and coimbatore.

In Hosur, 'Huns plywood pvt ltd' is purchasing 10years plants in 1cft calculation with minimum girth of 4foot for Rs/- 450 by suggesting farmers to grow the plantation with 20x20 distance.

In coimbatore, 'Ambiply Doors & Panels Pvt Ltd' is purchasing 5years and above plants in tons calculation with minimum girth of 1.5foot for Rs/- 7500 by harvesting and transporting to thier gate.

There might be few fellows who may collect amatured plants from early aged plants and do direct propagation within 15-30 days by using fertilizers support and sell for cheap rates.

Lets take an example in andhra pradesh that 3match box cost is rs/-3,But it weights not more than 3gm. But if we purchase a normal wood from a mill which costs around rs/-3.

1 Melia dubia plant gives you 500kgs weight in its basic maturity age of 5 years, which is already proved in timer depo testing in all aspects.if you extend to 7years it might give 750kgs - Upto 1000kgs i.e. 1 Ton. If you take above example as concern cost may be upto Rs/-3000. If you do plantation in an acre with 10x10 distance you can do upto 450-460 plants in an acre. Exclude 50 Plants as miscellinious due to genetic problem or something. 400 plants in your hand which gives 400tons or 200 tons.Farmer can earn 8lakhs - upto 12 Lakhs even in worst conditions he can upto 7lakhs.

Everybody of us know that your doing reselling business collecting pictures from our farms and publishing and claiming as those pictures are yours.

So finally you have become big fun by giving all such scripted commercial stories.

wait for a week i will post buyers of hyderabad plywood companies soon.

I will be eagerly waiting for your reply ASPS.

Hi guys,

Here is an article released today on hindu news channel;

In a suggestion that could ease the worries of eucalyptus farmers and plywood industry in the country, Indian Plywood Industries Research Institute (IPIRTI) has said melia dubia trees (also called malabar neem or kaad bevu) should be grown instead of the water-guzzling eucalyptus tree.

Court’s directive:
Eucalyptus plantations have come under the scanner after the High Court recently directed the forest officials to consider the ban on the tree in Kolar and Chickballapur, where eucalyptus plantations are being blamed for the declining groundwater table.

“We found it to be conforming to the ecological standards, while offering more strength and girth suitable for the wood-panel industry,” said B.N. Mohanty, Director, IPIRTI, which is a research and development institution under the Ministry of Environment. He was speaking at the meeting of the South India Plywood Manufacturers’ Association (SIPMA) here on Wednesday. Wood-based panel manufacturers and government representatives discussed technological advances in the sector, and issues concerning it.

Needs less water
“Kaad bevu consumes less water compared to eucalyptus and can grow to a girth of 100 cm (or one metre) in less than eight years in well-irrigated areas. Its peeling qualities also help get the best veneers for the plywood industry,” said Mr. Mohanty.

He said discussions will be held with the Ministry and Central forest officials to take up large-scale plantation of Melia Dubia tree.

The debate is very good and educating the farmers . Thank u nurseries for your posts.
I am interested in agroforestry , as it needs less labour and gives a reasonable profit . Best of all the farmer can not be forced to sell at low rate due to perishability problem. A suggest every farmer to plant some agroforestry tree like melia dubia along the bunds , the trees grow well along the bunds. they give good look to your farm and u will be happy to work in such farm. and the trees will give u good income without much effort. But presently in Andhra/Telangana the paper mills are only promoting and buying eucalyptus, they have not yeat geared up to process melia dubia. I think in just a couple of years they may gear up. If we go for block plantation and cut some of them and sell them for paper on tons basis in 3 years , and leave some widely spaced high girth plants for plywood we should be getting more income. my sample plants here and there a handful of them are healthy and they have grown straight without any pruning. if the soil is not deep , i.e if any rock bed below the top soil then the tree growth was stunted as expected.  I am planning to go for block plantation , yet to start the same.  Eucalyptus has a very good established market in A.P , I hope melia dubia also gets such market in A.P. The stake holders should promote the market for melia dubia with possibe govt support. govt is willing to invest heavily for growing trees , but I think the govt officials or politicians are not fully aware about this tree.
