I can't imagine that too many folks here use Hotmail but maybe you
have friends that do. Hotmail now refuses to let Linux users of
Firefox or Opera compose emails. Clever tactic that!

Interesting. I never used Hotmail, because when I started using
webmail based services, I kept getting booted by the use it at least
once a month rule (or your account gets nuked). Over time, I've
moved towards Gmail, and Google Apps.

Since then, I've also encountered other nasty side effects of using
Hotmail, like some emails getting silently deleted while in
transit. This is a problem for automated email senders and bulk
mailouts. In this instance, it was legitimate emails between a
company and contractors who use Hotmail addresses (yeah, I know, no
real excuse these days with the ease of setting up your own domain
under Google Apps).

Sorry for joining this thread late... but this is not the first time hotmail has not really delivered on web based email. Here's a page from a while ago where it claims hotmail just "looses" attachments:

http://hubpages.com/hub/Hotmail_Fails_To_Deliver_Up_To_81_Of_All_Attachment_Emails

I used to use hotmail... then yahoo, and now gmail. More than happy never to move webmail providers ever again!

:-)
