Dear GTUG members,

As promised the full details of the GTUG Global Campout HTML5 event
can be found below. Some changes since last notice so please note the
following:

Firstly, we are making it a two-day event, with a break at night. We
start from Saturday late morning (10:30am) until evening (9pm). We
then begin again on Sunday morning (10am) until presentations and
awards in the evening (6pm). There will not be a 'camping' perspective
as such, which will allow people to go home and rest easy to prepare
for the next day.

Unico will be hosting the event. Not only do these guys and gals find
creative and practical solutions to IT challenges, but they also have
a fantastic office and genuinely awesome staff. They'll be making sure
the atmosphere is sufficiently geeky and comfortable for coding our
web applications.

We want to see a broad mix of people at this event so I encourage you
to contact your best friends, work colleagues and fellow students who
have a creative spark in developing web assets and UI elements
(graphics, musics), code monkeys who can carve Javascript like
nobodies business, or innovative or business minded folks who can
prepare strong business cases and pitches. You will need all these
skills in order to blow our collective minds with your demo
presentation. And don't worry, if you've come by yourself we will be
forming teams based on pitches so you will soon have plenty of friends
to assist you.

I have some surprises in store for prizes but developing your ideas
along with your local teams against hundreds of other developers
worldwide in itself is a huge reward. While this event is long in the
hours it demands, it is worthwhile as you will go beyond the usual
"hello world" introductions into producing something real and
tangible.

If you are half-thinking about it but have other things on during part
of the weekend, I would encourage you to participate anyhow with the
caveat to your team that you may need to leave early. We won't be
locking you in the venue ;) Not only would your team be happy to have
your extra input, but you may make the journey with others to continue
the development beyond.

When this event was run last year at Googleplex, there literally was a
handful of startups that were created from it. We expect this will
happen again. This is your chance to take your HTML5 web app ideas and
turn them into reality. Will you be part of history? :)

If you have any questions please reply.

Cheers
Leon
