At our next session we'll be learning about Scala.js, Calico, Electron, and FRP through the lens of hands-on tutorial content I've developed:

https://github.com/benhutchison/calico_electron_tutorial

Tutorial in the sense of, there are actual code exercises that you can attempt. Here's the first one:

https://github.com/benhutchison/calico_electron_tutorial/tree/main/step1_static_ui/exercise

Now, I could talk about the tutorial & concepts and then do my own exercises. Or I could talk about the tutorial & concepts and then a brave audience member could plug in their laptop and attempt the exercises. It's pretty scaffolded but you'd need Scala-3 literacy, plus Java, SBT and a Scala IDE/editor ready.

You'll learn more the second way. I'll learn more too, since I'll see what happens when the content collides with a real student/user.

Consider yourselves collectively invited to take up this great opportunity.

Update: you might have seen the news - I'm fine but our onsite is cancelled, so I can make it to the meetup! I volunteer to be a test subject with (somewhat dated) Scala knowledge to try FRP.
