Hey guys,

CocoaHeads in California - which is headed by Scott Stevenson, have
not only a CocoaHeads session like us, but they have a separate
session called NSCoder Night. You may have heard of it, but if you
haven't - basically some of the members gather at a cafe or something
and code for the night. It follows no actual format or structure, and
its purpose is to collaborate with each other and ask each other
questions.

If anyone is interested in committing to this separate session to get
together once in a while, please list your interest.

Ricky.

I'm interested.

I think this would be even more interesting if we started our own (to
be open source) project of some description.

Sounds great, I'd be interested as well :)

I think it'd be pretty cool to be in on..

so what's the Open Source project to be then?
a browser? an office suite? an OS?
or are we just going to do what everyone else does, and do the web 2.0
app?

thanks,
mark

I would be more interested in using it as a way to discuss the finer
points of code and get pointers / suggestions for how to do something
with Cocoa.

Thanks,

I think this is a great idea as well. Working on a group project could
be fun as well. My only concern is being available for it every week
but I would definitely try.

HI there,

I am definitely in. As Garen said having an open source project would
be good. Or we could help on one of the various open source projects
out there.

Cheers,

Alex.

I don't think anyone is suggesting this should be a weekly thing. At
least not initially.

That sounds like an interesting idea. I'd be interested in hearing
more about that.

Hi,

Excellent idea. Since there seems to be a lot of new Mac OS X
developers (like me ;-)) join us at the last 2 meetings, may I
suggest that the initial weeks target the beginners in Cocoa
development.

Maybe we could start 2 streams, or alternate, one for the Mac and the
other for the iPhone.

I am sure that once the iPhone 2.0 and 3G is made available in
Australia (June is the rumour) that it will increase the group numbers.

Matt
