Monthly meeting and help needed

For some years the BUG hasn't been meeting regularly and a few people have carried on the work, with only this list to get feedback and opinions.

During the Doyle years, CoM did little for bikes and what they did was mostly poor. So the BUG was mainly critical and when people did engage council, outcomes were poor to non-existent.

Things have changed with a pro-bike lord mayor, the City is planning improvements and Melbourne BUG has re-engaged with councillors and officers to provide constructive input and feedback. This is creating a workload and there is much to be done. If you would like to help out with investigations, phone calls and meetings please say so!

First regular monthly meeting will be at 398 Lonsdale St (corner of Hardware Street) Tuesday 7th May 1800h.  Before you press the lift buttons, phone Nik on 0412703483 and await instructions. If you can't make the meeting but want to help, reply to this email.

BTW we are meeting Council next week to talk about Flinders Lane and Swanston St where police are moving out, what opportunities arise from removal of their onstreet parking needs.
