Proposed written submission:

"Congratulations to City of Melbourne on the proposal to put Market St on a "road diet" to create parkland and bike lanes.

The counterflow lane for bicycles is important in that it maximises permeability through the City grid.

The counterflow lane is shown as grade separated from the car lane, we support this design as it sends a clear signal to motor vehicle operators not to park in the bike lane"
