hey Pat
When I was looking on Friday for the Jun and Fos I did it through the
search option and when it appeared it didn't say anything about it
being unavailable. Today however when I went into the "browse by
parts" section then I saw that the two parts are unavailable yet. Is
that what you are finding as well? Also the strain of E.Coli (RB791)
which was used by Mathaias et al (in the posted paper) is not on the
list of the strains.
Do you have any idea how long it takes to get a part accepted by them?
Otherwise I think the rest would be fairly simple to do

hi, Kasia
I think the best way to get Jun and Fos genes is to send email to mit, and
give them the BioBrick code and ask them whether they are included in the
2007 BioBrick Kit delivery.

It doesn't look like their available - but I think Lei's right - are you ok
to email mit and see if they are available. Until we know - I'm not going
to email the Spanish group and say we're no longer interested in the
plasmids.

Heya everyone
I just got the email from mit and the biobricks that we are after, Jun
and Fos, will not be included in the kit. These biobricks are still
part of the DNA planning stage. Pat, has the Spanish group replied to
your emil yet?

No they haven't, but now that we know that we can't get the biobricks I am
happy to start being a bit more ...persistent.

Is this what people want me to do????

Yeah, go for it.
But I am wondering why MIT doesn't put fos and jun as standard biobricks. Is that because it was not really well developed? Could we ask the reason why it is not in the registry kit.

I've had a reply from Spain.

They are able to send us the plasmids, but it will take them an
unspecified amount of time to prepare them for us. They have also
sent me a legal diocument (MTA) to fill out for them.

Has there een any reply from McGIll?

A sent an email to one of the guys who dealt with Jun and Fos last
year and he directed me onto someone else. That person hasn't replied
to me yet.
