Hey snapper, I notice the East Sale radar has dissapeared, and now we have a
Bairnsdale radar...
I'd be curious to know if it's any better for you, Coz I remember you
saying the Sale radar wasnt much chop...

Funny that you should ask that. I went looking for the Sale radar tonight. All I
got was a blank screen. I thought that perhaps the site was down or something,
til I read the screen properly and saw the link to bairnsdale.

I don't know if it's any better or worse. Certainly, as I type it's pissing down
outside and the radar image appears to reflect this, as too does the MEL radar.

The other day the radar (Sale) suggested rainfall around town but it was
overcast, and only slightly drizzly in patches.

I'll keep an eye on the radar to see how it appears. But I tend to use MEL radar
as this gives us a better picture of what to expect.

Thanks. It'd be good to see what you think. I believe the radar at
Bairnsdale
is the old Melbourne one. IMO, it's in a better possie to look north-west
towards Dargo, which suits me.. :)

Trust them to give us the hand-me-downs.

Anyway, the BDL radar shows a different picture to the MEL radar for the same
rain cells. Maybe this is because of the different directions. But as far as its
accuracy goes, I'd say that it's fairly good for the Latrobe region. Naturally,
not being further east I can't say for sure.

But it's still a great service. Say what you will about the various government
departments and public service orgs, there are some out there that actually
deliver value for money, BoM and in my view, Aust. Post being two of them.

I'd stick up for the DoD and in particular the mob that is charged with buying
the gear for the troops, as my son-in-law works there as a ginger beer, but I'm
sure that I'd be howled down with great derision...

The Melbourne radar looks a little strange on my PC today. It's coarsely
pixelated, as though they've lost resolution.
