Project Plan
- underplaying assumptions for time estimating specially on custom clearance is so very short and we don’t think that the time line is ok. From client side we will be so pleased if that is your experience.
I appreciate your views and I fully agree the Plan is ambitious , and our team in Logotics advises me , it could be possible . Nirmal is following up with the People at the Ministray of capacity building , and working towards having the shortest customs clearance time . If there is a delay we will adjust the plan accordingly .
- Inspection of the goods and acceptance testing needs a minimum of two weeks as there are so many types of technologies and this needs its own plan according to the project agreement - (Pre-commissioning and Operational Acceptance Testing Plan )
Let me know whether the hardware test Plan I have given is OK with you and we can adjust the time lines – I have put 8 days in total , if need to be we increase the number of days . We have to keep in mind the L/C timelines as well . We will discuss in person and agree on achieving this milestones
- Regarding the training time schedule we are very much satisfied on the number of batches based on our April 14th meeting we have agreed to give two bathes of training in a day and this will help the different employees to also support the overall project implementation
According to the project agreement the project plan also needs to address the following
- The project plan need to also address the
o Warranty Service Plan
o Task, Time, and Resource Schedules
o Post-Warranty Service Plan
o Technical Support Plan
This will be covered in the Low level design after the design workshop or meeting we have with your teams on 17th onwards . This will be a detailed meeting .

Regarding the existing RDC.
The Existing RDC that have already storage area network is already finished, we can install all the required servers in the ZTE, existing data center ( that means we can integarate the new project with the existing ZTE data center ), we have also explained what the existing RDC is to ato Alemseged, what is the ECNM network model
Based on the bid proposal that you have submitted we have explained logically what it means and how we are going to implement that, how the wireless devices are going to be used, the location of Enterprise edges, security layer devices, core layer switches, serverfarms, switch blocks, etc.
Also location of RDC air conditioners, grounding system what is the requirement and how are they going to be installed, etc is explaned.
What are the anticipated services of the new project, what services are existing have been explained.
However, I will also send you another document regarding the IP address schemes of woredanet, what is the relation ship with the national data center, existing services of RDC in a detail way in the coming two days, as you have said it needs a serious attention.

· The Engineers are going to be in Mekele from Next week , and the trainer will also be there . The trainer will also help as a Team lead for the project on the Systems side .
· I have Looked at your request for more hands on training – and we are shipping few extra routers, switches for training . I have checked for the memory upgrade for the workstations – it is not available anywhere hence I am also sending in the server . By Any chance if you get a source for this workstation memory upgrade let me know , I am willing to upgrade the memory for FREE.
· All this items are being shipped along with the goods – so in my view the only training we can do now is Windows basics.
· I suggest let the engineers land, settle down , and based on your & the trainers comfort , we will do the windows training , and wait for the goods to start the rest of training .
· I want to Plan the Design Workshop , which is a very Important activity for this project from 18-21 May . However I am concerned , till today you haven’t shared with us current RDC details and the networking details . This workshops need extensive planning from our end . Please help me with this information .
· The Goods are Leaving on 11th and 12th Flights to Addis – the team in Addis is working on the Customs clearance and other logistics .
· Find enclosed the Hardware Acceptance list and procedure for Individual components – Please comment On the same , and we must finalise this before the equipment lands in Mekele .
· Please give us your feedback on the Progress of Site surveys
