A new school year is almost here, and the MEHMS PTA has news!

GOOGLE GROUP BEING RETIRED.* Because of the difficulty in getting
parents enrolled in our Google Group, the PTA is creating a new e-mail
system to send out meeting notices, volunteer opportunities, and
information about school events. In order to receive news about school
and PTA activities and events, you must send an e-mail to
mehm...@yahoo.com with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line. Please include
your name(s), student’s name and grade, and phone number. You will
receive a confirmation e-mail that you have been added to the PTA e-
mail list. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, please contact
me at 703.532.0240 or annetteh...@yahoo.com.

If you are a parent of a rising 8th-grader, you don’t have to do
anything. We will not be transferring e-mail addresses to the new
address.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 @ 6 pm | Back-to-School Social. I hope to see
many of you at the Social next Wednesday. The PTA will have
information about membership, calendar of meetings, and volunteer
opportunities. Also, Ms. Ritchey is collecting tennis balls to put on
the table and chair legs to protect the newly waxed floors, so if you
have old fuzzies from summer tennis games, bring them to donate!

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 @ Cherry Hill Park Pavilion from 4:30 - 6:30 pm |
Lemonade in the Park. Mark your calendars and plan to stop by Cherry
Hill Park on Sunday afternoon to reconnect with friends and meet new
students and their families who will be joining the MEHMS Family. If
you have tennis balls to donate, we'll be collecting them. PLEASE
NOTE: Information on PTA events and volunteer opportunities will be
available but official school information should be picked up at the
MEH Back to School Social on Wednesday.

THE YEAR’S FIRST VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY! Every year, the PTA hosts a
Welcome-Back-to-School breakfast for the teachers. If you would like
to help with the breakfast we are providing on Monday, August 30,
please e-mail me at annetteh...@yahoo.com.
