MEHER BABA IN THE GREAT SECLUSION  by Ramjoo Abdulla and Dr. C.D.
Deshmukh is an in-depth account of Baba’s Great Seclusion, which took
place at Meherazad for 40 days, from 22nd June to 31st July 1949. This
period of seclusion is especially significant because it served as a
link between what Baba described as the "Old Life of cherished hopes
and multifarious activities" and the "New Life of complete
renunciation and absolute hopelessness."

The authors provide some select background material, including a short
biography of Meher Baba and a retrospective survey of some of the
seclusion work which Baba undertook up to and including 1949, when
this book was written. There is also an excellent personal account
given by Jal Kerawalla, who served as one of the watchmen.

TALES FROM THE NEW LIFE WITH MEHER BABA edited by D. E. Stevens, is a
transcription of taped accounts of memories of the New Life narrated
by Eruch, Mehera, Mani and Meheru.

Don Stevens conducted these interviews in early 1972. They take the
form of a free- flowing dialogue. According to the editor in his
preface, the transcription was done with the goal of rendering the
source material as close to the original as possible.
In the Background section, Don wrote: "There has never in the past
been the opportunity to capture the essence of such an experience from
those who participated in it. The stories which unfold in the ensuing
pages pose some of the most touching incidents and at the same time
some of the most puzzling questions that have been caught in the arena
of the inner search."

Baba" at: http://ambppct.org/meherbaba/Books_About_Meher_Baba.php#7
