does it only depend on how old you are?
consider an infant.
so, the younger you are, the more useless your knowledge is to you?
although, likewise...
consider a middle-aged person or a senior citizen.
and how their time is steadily running out.
so, the older you get, the more useless your knowledge is to you?
...
i guess it depends on your religious beliefs somewhat.
or not.
...
i suppose your knowledge can be useful to others.
but how much of your knowledge is useless even to them?
(if only because there's way too much of it to be able to share it
efficiently)
or because it has become obsolete.
...
i suppose it depends on the nature of your knowledge.
if it's mostly just fact-based, ironically, the uselessness probably
increases exponentially.
however, if your knowledge has a non-fact-based evolving quality about
it...
...a greater percentage of it might be less useless.
...
fortunately, a sense of humor is very rarely useless.
it's not useless to you, nor to most anyone else.
so it doesn't appear to depreciate in value much.
if at all.
on the contrary, usually.
though some senses of humor may become more quickly obsolete than
others.
...
just something to think about as you consider which knowledge to
pursue next.
but i suppose that some people never consider how useless their
knowledge is.
or is it most people?
would it be a useless thing to know which it was?
it probably depends on whether the answer is funny or not.
unless humor is actually more useless than useless knowledge.
...
like the accumulation of useless knowledge, do you get the sense that
i could extend this essay indefinitely?
theoretically, i suppose i could, but it's not a practical
possibility.
so the question arises...
how much of this essay is useless to you?
-$Zero...
uselessness is relative. you never know if a day may come when
knowledge that was useless becomes useful. and what about knowledge
that could have been useful had you been able to remember it?
