Hi everyone, newbie question here - is there a way to get a free developer account if you're just working with the API?

Hi Alex,

If you have a meetup.com account (which costs nothing), you already can access the Meetup API. The easiest way to get started is by using the api console at http://www.meetup.com/meetup_api/console/ or by making requests using an HTTP client of your choice with your api key which can be found at http://www.meetup.com/meetup_api/key/

Hi Doug,

Yeah, I did that, but the thing is that I'm building a feature that uses the Meetup API to make changes to an organizer's events and I've not been able to find a way to test it without paying the dues.

Have you joined the API testing group http://www.meetup.com/Meetup-API-Testing ? We can make you a co-organizer.

Didn't know about it, but just joined. If you could make me a co-organizer, that would be great, thanks!

You should have those permission now.
