How to set a meetup member's "Add Member dues Mark exempt from dues" setting

Hi,

Can you tell me which api call I need to use to do the same thing on meetup as pressing the  "

• Add Member dues 
• Mark exempt from dues

"  link for each meetup member?

Hi Andy,

Sorry for the delay. The short answer is that you can not currently mark member's as being exempt from paying their membership dues via the platform API. From an organizer's perspective, you can only manager a member's roles within the group using http://www.meetup.com/meetup_api/docs/2/profile/#edit

I will talk to our Pay team in regards to whether or not they believe makes sense to expose this feature to a wider audience.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for letting me know the current status.

I was looking for a work-around for the problem where the membership has a maximum "trial" period of 6 months.  We need either: Unlimited trial period, or a trial based on the number of events a person comes to.   We have lots of people that might signup to be a member of our meetup for a month or even a year or more, but not come to an event.  Then after that time, we still want to allow them to come as a "trial" member.  It seems like it would make alot of sense to have "trial" members based on number of events attended, instead of on some specific number of time...since it seems to me that meetup is a system based on events, not time.

Would you be able to let me know their response?
