Hi there.
I've been able to create all sorts of events, and I have become acquainted with all the parameters required, but I must admit I'm not sure how to handle the time parameter...
When I create an event I send the time parameter with the milliseconds elapsed since the epoch, but when Meetup creates the event, then I notice that the time is off by a few hours.
It seems as if Meetup automatically adds a time shift to account for the time zone, but I have not been able to figure out how to deal with it.

I'm on the West Coast, and my group is in San Francisco.
The last thing I tried was to get the utc milliseconds shifted to Pacific time zone (-7), but this doesn't seem to work...
Could you help me figure out how to set the time in event creation?
Thank you in advance

Mike

Hi Mike,

I'm in the same time zone.  See the below thread.  There's one post w/ an attachement.  It's in Python, but it works for me.

Good luck!

Hi Teruo and thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I did try your code, and it actually gives me the exact same number of milliseconds my code gets me.
Despite that, all the events I post to Meetup are offset by a few hours.
I'm at a loss here.
Are times in requests somehow shifted to East Coast time zone?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Meetup time is based on UTC.  Jan. 1 1970, midnight UTC ss the start of the epoch.

Please post your code.  I suspect you're not taking UTC into properly.  At least for Python, the libraries take DST and time zone differences into account.
