Clever!  Can use this BEFORE the event to memorize people's names. 

One suggestion.  Right now when a person is zoomed, it bounces all the other pictures around, maybe you could make it a static grid and only the current image zooms.  Or just load the large versions of all the images to start with?  Looks like you might have to include a default image for folks too lazy to add a profile pic.  :)

Thanks for sharing.  Memorizing names is such a drag, can see how this would help make it easier.

Hi, I've got a similar app for the iphone called 'Meetup Friends' - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/meetup-friends-for-iphone/id505824283?mt=8
It lets you see who's coming and let's you remember people and easily see if they rsvp'd  for future events in other groups as well.
