USA leads the list of top most preferred countries for studying abroad, but many people opine that studying in USA is very expensive, in comparison to other countries. Every country has several universities which cater to people from all classes and background. The concept of “need blind admission” is very popular in USA; it means a college can admit students without considering the applicant’s financial position. Students can also secure admission on “full need” basis, in this they are exempted from paying any tuition fee.
Tuition fees of US Universities range from $560 to $55,000 approx. per year. The university/college fee varies from institution to institution. Whether you go to USA or any other foreign country, it is mandatory to show that you are financially sound and will be able to sustain yourself in a foreign country. Only the universities which admit students on “need blind” basis do not check the financial position of the student.
There is a considerable difference in tuition fees between state universities and private universities and colleges. One thing which should be kept in mind is that higher tuition fee is no indicator of a better college. State universities usually charge less, than private institutions, while community, technical and vocational colleges generally have the lowest tuition fees. It is not possible to acquire the exact figures of any university tuition fee, unless you have enrolled in it.
Universities also offer various scholarships and grants to all the deserving candidates, but the procedure to procure it, is university/college specific. There is no fixed criterion to get the scholarship. Scholarships and grants assist the students in various manners.
There is no limit for spending on living expenses, but as a student one has limited income to spend. Universities allow its students to work for limited time period, so that they can earn a livelihood. The cost of living for a month can go anywhere from $300 to $1000 approx. based on how you lead your life. You cannot change the tuition fee, but can surely keep a check on your living expenses.
